Making a Difference Every Month
Food pantries in South Lake County perform the vital role of ensuring that families (children and senior citizens in particular) in our area don't go hungry. They go beyond the assistance provided through government programs, helping the working poor and providing necessary items not available from other sources.
Most food pantries receive ample donations during the holidays but struggle during other times of the year. Often food pantries run out of certain high-demand items very quickly.
SouthLake Cares stays connected with the six food pantries in the Crown Point area to determine what their most-needed items are each month. We help ensure that what is needed gets to where it is needed most.
Poverty and need know no season. SouthLake Cares is about consistency in caring, contributing towards the needs of others in our area each month, instead of just a couple times each year.
We are a community-service ministry of The Crown Point Ministerial Association in Crown Point, Indiana, helping to connect resources with needs throughout the year.
